DES MOINES — Police say the bones found in a Des Moines lake are human.
A police spokesman said Thursday that experts think the bones are from an education cadaver, but that’s not been confirmed. A kayaker spotted what he thought was a human jawbone Nov. 24 as he left the water at Gray’s Lake. The 167-acre park is located at the site of a former gravel and sand excavation operation.
