Constituents urged to attend upcoming events

As we approach the 87th session of the Iowa General Assembly, I’d like to thank you for electing me to work for you at the Statehouse. I urge all constituents to reach out to me with their issues and concerns so that I may voice them in the coming term.

Many issues need to be addressed. Among the most important are improvements in delivery of Medicaid services and reimbursement to providers, better access to mental health services, adding more quality local employment opportunities, enhancing water quality and assuring adequate funds for public education.

I plan to hold listening posts in Newton, Colfax and Prairie City in December and early January. At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sen. Chaz Allen and House Minority Leader Mark Smith will join me in Colfax for a listening post at the Senior Center on the Medicaid privatization issue. On Dec. 17, Sen. Allen and I will be at Uncle Nancy’s in Newton at 10 a.m., and the Colfax Public Library at 11:30 a.m., for two more listening posts to hear other issues and concerns of constituents. Another scheduled event is the Mayor’s Coffee in Prairie City on Jan. 7. We will join Chad Alleger at the Prairie City Public Library at 8 a.m. We look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events.

I can be reached by emailing me at electbreckenridge@gmail.com, messaging me on Facebook, submitting a question through my website at electbreckenridge.com or simply by calling my cell phone number at 641-521-6714. Please reach out and ask questions. I work for you.
