Thank you for the story, “Veteran Honored,” printed Nov. 10, front page, about my family receiving my brother, technician William Schmitz, Bronze Star after 75 years. Jason Brook’s wrote a wonderful story and the pictures are great. Mr. Brooks truly made the ceremony come alive.
I would like to correct one thing. I did not request that elected officials or politicians not attend. They would have been more then welcome. I requested no politician do the presentation as we wanted a military person to do that.
Thank you again for the publicity. My family and I appreciated it very much. And thank you for letting me do this correction.
