Police blotter

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Danyelle R. Zubrod, 32, of Runnells, is charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug contraband in a correctional institute. A Prairie City officer responded to a suspicious persons call south of Prairie City at 8 p.m. Sunday. The officer saw headlights exiting a level B road at the intersection of Highway 14 and Liberty Avenue. The driver stopped the vehicle and the passenger stepped out. The passenger asked the officer to help navigate through the muddy road. They told the officer they were rock hunting. The officer could see a bottle of vodka behind the driver’s seat that appeared to have been open, then asked the driver if they had any alcohol or drugs with them and she said no. When searching the vehicle, the officer found a small baggy that contained a white powdery substance with a straw inside and a container of Mountain Dew with vodka mixed into it. Zubrod was taken to the Jasper County Jail where she was asked if she had any contraband before she entered the building. Zubrod said she didn’t have anything. During a search of her belongings, a marijuana smoking pipe and drug paraphernalia were found in Zubrod’s jacket.

• Gerald L. Roll, 67, of Marshalltown, is charged with first offense domestic assault after an alleged incident took place inside of the victim’s vehicle at 11:15 p.m. Sunday at the 8400 block of Highway 14 East.
