Scott Allen Pherigo, 60, was born July 16, 1956, in Des Moines. The son of Onie C. and Helen J. (Higby) Pherigo, he graduated from the Newton Senior High. Out of high school, Scott was employed by the Maytag Company Plant Two operations as an inspector and retired after 30 years.
Scott was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He enjoyed his family, his guns, traveling on hunting and fishing trips, many outdoor activities and reading about reloading shells for his guns.
Scott passed from this life Oct. 20, 2016, at his home in Newton.
He is survived by his daughter, Courtney Brumbaugh (Jon) and their twins, Kingston and Kashton of Urbandale; his son, Elijah Pherigo of Ankeny; a brother, Michael Pherigo of Newton; his sister, Janette R. See of Houston, Texas; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be at a later date. The Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family in Scott’s name or a charity of your choosing.
