NCS to host annual Benefit Dinner Nov. 11

Newton Christian School would like to invite the public to attend this year’s Benefit Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Community Heights Alliance Church, 2500 S. 13th Ave. E.

This year the speaker will be Jake Sullivan. He is the founder of Kingdom Hoops and Kingdom Cares. Entertainment will be by Brian Gorman. RSVP by Nov. 8 to Debby Pence 641-521-9301.

In 2009, Sullivan and his wife Janel were called to Ghana, Africa to adopt. From the adoption, a basketball academy formed and God inspired Sullivan to continue finding needs in the country of Ghana.

An organization was founded and new missions projects were planted in Ghana. In the United States, Kingdom Cares worked to provide athletic scholarships in order to enroll more athletes in Kingdom Hoops. What began as an adoption and basketball academy, transformed into an organization that continually worked to identify and meet needs of youth and their communities.

From 2009-2015, Kingdom Cares International operated projects in Ghana, Central Africa Republic, and Chad. In September 2015, Jake founded Acts 2 Collective, an organization to support nonprofits and communities around the world. Jake’s dream is to see needs met and the lives of youth transformed.

Sullivan and his wife have six children: Justice, JJ, Jennifer, Jayla, Jasara and Jacoby. Jake has a passion for working with youth, seeing every individual reach their full potential as athletes and leaders in their schools and local communities, and bringing the gospel to unreached people groups.
