Trenton Brady wore No. 52 for Newton High’s Cardinal football team. Brady died in an automobile accident in June. He would have been a starting senior lineman for the Cardinals during the 2016 season. On Senior Night, Brady was remembered by teammates, coaches, friends, fans and family before Friday’s final game of the season. His parents, Mike and Jolene Brady and brother Austin, right, were presented with several tokens of remembrance. The Newton High AfterProm committee presented a check of $1,500 for a scholarship to be given to a Class of 2017 senior in Trenton Brady’s name. Brady’s brother Ethan is a sophomore lineman on the team. Newton beat Indianola, 45-28, Friday to finish a 6-3 season.
