Breckenridge is a leader

I’ve been a member of Wes Breckenridge’s campaign team since September of 2015. It’s been a learning experience to witness the amount of work entailed in the start up and running of a campaign that’s now gone on 14 months, first to unseat a three term incumbent representative in the June primary, and again during the months leading up to Election Day. Reaching out for support through scores of phone calls, canvassing hundreds of doors, holding meet and greet events in all the district’s cities, planning the details of two large fundraisers, meeting with dozens of residents who have specific concerns about issues, holding discussions with numerous representatives of advocacy organizations, raising the substantial amount of money needed to wage the campaign, placing hundreds of signs; these are just some of the tasks that Wes has accomplished.

Wes has always insisted that our team run only a positive campaign that stressed important issues, particularly the need to improve access to mental health services, improve and protect our state’s water and natural resources and ensure Iowa’s public schools remain strong and well funded. He’s met with providers who are struggling with the privatization of Medicaid locally as well as attended hearings at the Capitol. He’s visited with every school in the county to learn their concerns. He acknowledges the realities of the tough challenges of these and other issues that need legislative answers.

Wes has proven through his many years of living and working in this community that he can provide leadership to find solutions. He enjoys wide support in our community by those who believe he will make a very effective State Representative for House District 29. I hope you will join me in voting for Wes Breckenridge by absentee ballot, at the auditor’s office, or on Election Day, Nov. 8.
