Everyone is invited to an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 6. All of the prints will be on display in the Ding Darling Gallery at the Prairie Learning Center from Nov. 1 through Nov. 12. The art will be for sale during this event on Nov. 6. Refreshments will be served.

Maynard Reece is a wildlife artist, from Des Moines, who has won the Federal Duck Stamp Contest five times as well as receiving many other awards. His work has appeared in many magazines and he has illustrated a number of books, including The Waterfowl Art of Maynard Reece and The Upland Bird Art of Maynard Reece. His paintings have been on display throughout the United States and Canada.

The prints in this exhibit cover a wide array of subjects — waterfowl, birds, animals, covered bridges and more. A special print is an original of the 1959 winning Federal Duck Stamp. If you have questions or would like more information, call Joan Van Gorp at 515-994-2918.
