A German Rhapsody comes to Des Moines Oct. 29-30

DES MOINES — The Des Moines Symphony continues its 2016-17 79th Season with A German Rhapsody, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 30, 2016 at the Des Moines Civic Center, 221 Walnut St. in Des Moines.

Russian violinist Vadim Gluzman has been praised for his technical proficiency along with his power and passion. His performance of Brahms’s virtuosic Violin Concerto will be a thrilling experience remembered for years to come. Our symphonic tour of Germany also features Wagner’s impassioned Flying Dutchman Overture and the colorful music of Richard Strauss — but first, the sparkling Classical perfection of Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony will uplift and inspire. Join us for this all-German program of exquisite Classical and symphonic favorites.

Tickets range from $15 to $65 for adults through Des Moines Performing Arts at 515-2462300), $7.50-$32.50 for students, plus $5 rush tickets for junior high/high school students and $10 rush tickets for all other students the day of the concerts, subject to availability at the Civic Center Ticket Office.
