Newton chamber gearing up for annual Lighted Holiday Parade

The Newton Chamber of Commerce is preparing for its annual Holiday Lighted festival, and lighted parade, to coincide with the lighting of the Jasper County Courthouse, which will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 25.

The theme this year is “Twas The Lights Before Christmas” and the chamber is proud to bring back the fun tradition of the lighted parade. There will be many activities that evening beginning with the Chili Cook-Off, hosted by the Young Professionals of Jasper County, with judging beginning at 5:15 p.m. and free chili served at 5:30 p.m., then the courthouse lights will be lit at 6 p.m. The parade will immediately follow the courthouse lighting.

There will be holiday music from DJ Nick Hoskins playing around the square, as well as Santa in the Courthouse. Looking for a fun family photo opportunity? The chamber will have its own holiday themed photo booth. There will also be fun activities for the kids. Be sure to attend this annual tradition.
