FORT DODGE — A fire has all but leveled a shop building at an asphalt company operation in Fort Dodge.
The fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Fort Dodge Asphalt Co. Officials say the roof of the metal building had already caved in by the time firefighters arrived. A few minutes later a propane tank exploded.
No injuries have been reported.
State investigators have been called in to determine what caused the blaze. Firefighters estimate the damage at $1 million.
