County deputy assessor earns state designation

Jasper County Chief Deputy Assessor Tracy DeJong recently earned the Iowa Certified Assessor designation from the Institute of Iowa Certified Assessors.

To earn the ICA, the candidate must meet requirements in the areas of age, experience, and State Association Membership as well as scholastic background and special training. In addition, a passing grade is required in a written exam covering all phases of assessment procedure and Iowa assessment law, and a comprehensive narrative real estate appraisal.

DJong is a member of the Iowa State Association of Assessors and the International Association of Assessing Officers. DeJong has also served the ISAA on numerous committees, most recently being appointed to the Manual and Forms Committee and the Ad Hoc District Court Committee.

DeJong began her assessment career in January 2011 as office clerk for Jasper County. In 2013, she was appointed Jasper County Chief Deputy Assessor.
