Aktion Club installs new officers

On Sept. 28, the Newton Kiwanis Aktion Club installed its 2016-17 board of officers. Nebraska-Iowa District Aktion Club Administrator Andy Bradley from Omaha, Neb. was on hand to perform the introductions and installation.

New officers are Stephanie Jenness — President Elect, Matthew Northway — 2016-17 President, Rondi Machin — Past President, Jim Kool — Vice President, Tamara Lloyd — Secretary, Dawn Hanbeck — Treasurer, Colleen Wittenberg — Assistant Secretary.

Tamara Lloyd was also installed as the Nebraska-Iowa Aktion Club Governor, a new position created by the District to give added oversight and direction to Aktion Clubs within the District by “one of their own.” The Newton Noon Kiwanis, Golden K Kiwanis, and Progress Industries sponsor the local Aktion Club. Margaret Caldewell and Cathy Rickers who serve as Advisors to the Newton Aktion Club are very proud of Lloyd’s leadership ability and are confident that she will serve the District well in her new role as Governor.

Members of the Grinnell and Marshalltown Aktion Club Kiwanis chapters attended a training session conducted by Andy Bradley earlier in the day, and stayed for the installation and reception that followed. Parents, family and friends were also invited.
