CMB volleyball gets swept by North Polk

MAXWELL — The Collins-Maxwell/Baxter volleyball lost its third straight match Tuesday night when North Polk defeated the Raiders in three games during Heart of Iowa Conference action.

The Class 3A No. 13 Comets downed CMB 25-10, 25-14, 25-17.

CMB fell to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in HOIC play. North Polk improved to 23-7 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Junior Jordynn Wesselink finished with four kills and six digs and was 8-for-8 in serving. Junior Brianda Bane added three kills, three digs and she was 5-for-5 in serving.

Junior Sailor Hinegardner collected a team-high 16 digs and was 11-for-11 in serves. The Raiders missed just one serve on the night, hitting on 42-of-43 with six aces. Senior Bekah Pearson served up two aces and had two kills.

Senior Kathleen Baldwin finished with two kills, nine assists and one ace.

CMB plays Saturday at the Madrid tournament. The Raiders play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at South Hamilton.
