Rex Miskimins of Rock Creek Lake, Kellogg, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the age of 89. He was the son of Frank and Zeola Miskimins of Seymour.
He earned a BS in education from Drake University and an MA in school administration from Truman State University to prepare him for his lifelong profession of teaching, coaching and serving as a school administrator. He began his career at a rural school in Wayne County. He also taught in Plover, Mt. Ayr and Colfax, and served as a principal in the Newton-Kellogg school system from 1961-1987. His interests of toy collecting, antique dolls and old cars gave him immense pleasure.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette; and brothers, Close, Harold and Wendell.
In accordance with Rex’s wishes, his body has been cremated and no formal services will take place.
