Newton Police Department
• Christopher L. Loudermilk, 24, of Newton, is charged with eluding, driving while barred and seven counts of failure to obey traffic control device after authorities were called 6:53 p.m. Thursday to 100 E. 14th St. N. Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle when the driver sped up and began a pursuit through Newton. During the pursuit the vehicle reached speeds of 80 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. The vehicle eventually entered a bean field at East 60th Street North and north of North 27th Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle after it entered the field. Loudermilk was identified as the driver and was apprehended Saturday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Lena D. Gulley, 44, of Newton, is charged with interference with official acts after authorities were called at 3:50 a.m. Friday to 4401 S. 22nd Ave. E. Officers were called about people partying in a room at the AmericInn hotel. Officers made contact with Gulley, who was intoxicated and was asked to have her friends leave the room because they were disturbing other guests. She was instructed to go back into her room, which she failed to do. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Hector D. Bonilla, 33, of Newton, is charged with third-degree theft, possession of controlled substance, driving while license denied or revoked and failure to provide proof of financial liability after authorities were called at 12:45 a.m. Sunday to Walmart. Officers were called about shoplifter and spoke with management who said a man walked out of the doors with a large television and sound bars without paying. Bonilla was identified and officers went to his house and saw the television in the box in the residence. While at the residence, officers smelled marijuana and Bonilla admitted it was his. Bonilla claimed he bought the television but tossed the receipt out the window. The total value of the property was $883. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Hillary S. Buckles, 25, of Newton, is charged with driving while license under suspension after authorities pulled her over at 10:24 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East 11th Street South and South Eighth Avenue East. She was cited and released to appear.
