Progress Industries honors frontline employees who support people with disabilities

Progress Industries is celebrated National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week Sept. 11-17 in an effort to honor individuals who provide support and training for people with disabilities in our community.

Direct Support Professional Recognition Week is part of the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) National Advocacy Campaign. The campaign’s mission is to enhance the lives of all people with disabilities who rely on long-term supports and services by obtaining the resources to recruit, train and retain a highly qualified and sustainable workforce.

Progress Industries serves approximately 350 individuals with disabilities on an annual basis and employs nearly 300 people, most of whom are direct support professionals.

“We thank direct support professionals who support people with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities to achieve a fulfilling life in their community,” said Sandy Ham, President and CEO for Progress Industries. “P.I.’s direct support professionals provide a broad range of individualized services to meet each person’s needs and we are proud to recognize the magnitude of their contributions during Direct Support Professionals Week.”
