The Newton Chapter of the Des Moines Metropolitan Opera will kickoff its 2016-2017 program season with a potluck at 4 p.m. Sunday at Park Centre.
Members are asked to bring a dish to share and are encouraged to bring a guest.
Member Virginia Bennett will share the experience and memories from her recent guild sponsored trip to Santa Fe where she heard three operas, “Romeo and Juliet,” “Don Giovanni” and “Capriccio.”
Yearly dues are $25 per person and $40 for a couple and may be paid at the meeting.
