Thombert, Inc. was recognized with the 2016 “Friend of Education Award” by the Newton Community Education Association. The award is presented annually to honor and recognize a person or organization making a positive difference in the lives of the Newton Community School Districts students and teachers.
Thombert was recognized for its various efforts to support education in Newton. The company hosts the Newton High School chemistry classes for educational sessions and facility tours each semester. Thombert also provides financial support for the NHS Newbotics Team and awards two Advanced Manufacturing scholarships to NHS graduating seniors each spring.
The Newton Community Education Association is the certified employee organization for the teachers in the Newton Community School District and represented 124 members in the 2015-16 school year.
Thombert, Inc. was founded in Newton in 1946 and is an advanced manufacturer of polyurethane wheels and tires for electric forklifts, rubber tracked tractors and other materials handling equipment.
