DES MOINES — Andrea Williams, of Oelwein, won top honors in the Ladies’ Husband Calling contest judged Aug. 19 at the 2016 Iowa State Fair.
Bonnie Swalwell Eilert, of Newton, claimed second place and third place went to both Nancy Sinnwell, of West Des Moines, and Virginia Stone, of Waukee. Sheryl Beals, of Colfax, tied for fifth place and Deana Wright, of Colfax, tied for eighth.
The contest was part of “Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions” in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
