As a supporter and a director of a United Way Partnering Agency, I believe that supporting our United Way is one of the most powerful, collective opportunities in which one can be involved in.
United Way raises much needed dollars for more than two dozen health and human service programs annually from counseling to youth literacy programs, filling food bank shelves, providing rides for cancer patients to their appointments, to making sure young children have the opportunity for a quality early education. Through a grant process United Way ensures the integrity of each grant awarded to the partnering agencies. The agencies know that United Way expects accountability, transparency and efficiency from every program it supports. The agencies are fully accountable to United Way and must be able to show a positive impact in the community and on the lives of the people they help as a direct result of United Way's investment.
With today's economic challenges, more people are struggling in our community than ever before. Local programs are being stretched to the limits to meet the needs. If you can give a little or a lot, this is your opportunity to make your impact.
