Richard Lutz, 70, of Newton, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at his home. No services are scheduled. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the cremation.
Richard, the son of Russell and Beulah (Roland) Lutz, was born July 26, 1946, in Monroe. He grew up in Monroe, until moving to Newton to start his career at the Maytag Company. Richard was united in marriage with Nancy Main Dec. 31, 1993, in Monroe.
After retiring from Maytag, Richard worked at Iowa Speedway for two seasons. He was a member of the UAW Local 997 and the Eagles and loved to fish.
Those left to honor Richard’s memory are his wife, Nancy Lutz of Newton; children, Paul (Carlene) Lutz of West Des Moines and Pam (Terry) Lutz-Grubb of Knoxville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Dorothy Williams of Mercer, Mo., Mary Ervin of Marshalltown and Norman Lutz of Newton; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Anna Mae Kane.
