My husband and I are horrified as we watch the Bakken pipeline going in around town. Of course, the pipeline will carry crude oil which is fossil fuel and contains poisonous chemicals which are harmful to humans and all living things.
Many years ago my father set up the Newton water system here in town. He was a chemical engineer at the Maytag Company. He talked about how they used underground rivers for our city water source. He also set up the testing at which was used for the water. My cousin, Alison Grass, works in Washington, D.C. for Food and Water Watch. She is trying to prevent these from going in. The poisons in crude oil include chemicals like chromium which you have heard about in the movie “Erin Brockovich” who is fighting for clean water. The actual Erin Brockovich is still fighting these companies who are polluting everything.
I have talked to welders who state the welds will most likely leak as they have in other places. In a couple of months, my husband and I will be getting a special water purifying system for ourselves. After I did research on the purifying systems, I discovered one which will even purify ditch water as well as rainwater or anything else.
