PLEASANT HILL — An autopsy shows a man whose body was pulled from the Des Moines River drowned. The body was recovered Monday after a driver on U.S. Highway 65 in Pleasant Hill reported seeing what he thought was a body on the northwest bank of the river. Polk County medical examiner Gregory Schmunk said the autopsy showed the cause of death was consistent with drowning.
