CMB’s Stover is named IHSBCA 2A all-stater

Brady Stover added one more postseason honor to his senior season for Collins-Maxwell/Baxter baseball.

The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association announced its 2016 All-State teams this week.

Stover was named to the IHSBCA All-State Class 2A first team as a pitcher. Stover earned Iowa Newspaper Association All-State Class 2A first team honors as a pitcher earlier this month.

Stover finished 7-1 with an earned run average of 0.64. In 65 2/3 innings, Stover struck out 140 batters, which ranked first in the state in all classes. He allowed just six earned runs all season and opponents only hit 0.098 off him.

Stover started every postseason game for a Raider squad which advanced to its first-ever state baseball tournament. The Raiders lost to Kuemper Catholic, 3-2 in eight innings, in the 2A state tournament opener.

Stover has signed to play NCAA Division I baseball at South Dakota State.
