Support for children’s choir camp appreciated

If ever there was question of the terrific community in which we live, let me assure you, there shouldn’t be. Iowa Youth Chorus and the Newton Library hosted a children’s choir camp last week. Children from far and wide attended, learned choir singing skills, and created a musical from a library book. They worked hard and performed beautifully, but more importantly, had fun and made new friends. Organizations and businesses in Newton made this free camp possible. Thanks to the Jasper County Arts Connection and the Newton Rotary, it was funded. Mattingly Music, Subway, Domino’s, Taco Johns, and McDonald’s all assisted with needed equipment and meals free of charge. Our children live in a very supportive community. Thanks to all.
