Rural Iowa can’t afford Patty Judge

If a candidate is known by the company they keep, the endorsement of Patty Judge by the deceptively named League of Conservation Voters and its misguided priorities speaks volumes.

Among that radical group’s misguided priorities is an attack on ethanol. Its principles state that “conventional corn ethanol has far-reaching negative environmental impacts, including water pollution, global warming pollution, and habitat destruction.”

Like Patty Judge, the LCV fervently supports the Water of the United States rule, which is a massive power grab to give the Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers control over virtually every stream, wetland, river and marsh in the country at the expense of individual property owners.

This group’s endorsement of Patty Judge should serve as a clear warning that she will side with radical environmentalists, liberal special interest groups and Washington bureaucrats over Iowa’s farmers and agribusinesses.

As she proved when she was lieutenant governor and broke our state’s budget, rural Iowa cannot afford Patty Judge.
