Stargazing 101 —
9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Whitebreast Camp
Join Dr. Lee Wymore, amateur stargazer and biology teacher at Indian Hills Community College, to learn to identify some stars and constellations In our galaxy, the Milky Way.
Wymore will bring an 8” Dobsonian reflector telescope to observe the wonders of the night sky. This event will be canceled if cloudy/raining.
Tree I.D. Hike — 10 a.m., Saturday, Whitebreast Camp
Come see the forest for the trees.
Join Dr. Lee Wymore from Indian Hills Community College to take a look at some of the different species growing along the Stu Kuyper Nature Trail, and pick up a few tips how to identify them on your next outing.
Snake Lunchtime — 1 p.m., Saturday, Visitor Center
It’s feeding day at the visitor center. Stop by and join the center’s resident snakes as they have a bite to eat.
Live Snakes! — 10 a.m., Wednesday, Visitor Center
Like snakes? Get an up-close look at some of these slithery, scaly reptiles that call the lake area home. You might even get the chance to hold one of them.
Programs are free of charge and reservations are not needed. Outdoor activities may be canceled if raining/inclement weather.
