• Iowa Youth Chorus Children’s Choral Camp will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at Newton Public Library, 100 N. Third Ave. W. Iowa Youth Chorus is offering a Children’s Choral Camp July 25-28 until 7:30 p.m. at the Newton Public Library. Enrollment is limited to 25 children ages 7 to 11. • Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Kiwanis will meet at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Monroe City Hall, 206 Sherman St.

• Newton Golden “K” Kiwanis will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the activity room at Newton Village, 110 N. Fifth Ave. W. in Newton.

• Congressman Dave Loebsack’s District Representative Bri Dennison will host open office hours at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Uncle Nancy’s Coffeehouse & Eatery, 114 N. Second Ave. W. in Newton.

• Newton Rotary Club will meet at noon Tuesday at DMACC Newton Campus. The program will be presented by Jeff Davidson on Jasper County Hometown Pride. • Open House for the First Avenue East Overlay and Safety Improvements Project will begin at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Newton City Hall, 101 W. Fourth St. S. The City of Newton is planning a project for 2017 that will mill and overlay First Avenue East and from the 1300 block to East 28th Street. The project will include the construction of sidewalks on both sides of First Avenue East from the 1300 block to Iowa Speedway Drive.
