Carla Jo Greer

Carla Jo Greer, 69, of #1 Hackworth Drive, Ottumwa, died at 11:20 p.m. July 16, 2016 at her home.

She was born July 3, 1947 in Newton to Frank and Dolores Dodd Cleverly. She married William Leroy Greer Jan. 5, 1991.

A graduate of Newton High School, she attended the Americana Academy of Beauty in Des Moines. A resident of Ottumwa since 1970, she has been a lifelong beautician, working at the Firm and Salon Fit. She also worked 10 years for Gardner Collier Jewelry.

She enjoyed dancing at the Eagles, exercising with friends, planting her flowers and especially spending time with family.

Surviving is her husband, Bill; a son, Scott (Stacey) Reed of Port Bryon, Ill.; three grandsons, Tanner, Colby, and Brady Reed; a step-son David Greer of Columbia, Mo.; four step-grandchildren, Zach Greer, Patricia Greer, Elizabeth Antolik and Zachary Antolik; three sisters, Candy (Rod) Meyer of Killduff, Cindy (Mike) Richards of East Bethel, Minn., and Cris (Larry) Crady of Newton; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jay Reed.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with Pastor Alan Paris officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
