Newton Police Department

• David R. Neasham, 51, of Newton, was arrested on two Jasper County warrants after authorities were called to the Adult Probation Office at 9:51 a.m. July 8. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Casey J. Brandt, 33, of Newton, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and open container after authorities pulled him over at 10:41 p.m. Thursday to the 400 block of East Second Street North. Officers spoke with Brandt and found he had a pipe used for smoking marijuana along with an open beer in his truck. Officers also found syringes in the drivers side door. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Carrie M. Walters Halfpop, 36, of Newton, is charged with violation of no contact order after authorities were called at 11:02 p.m. June 9 to the 3000 block of Highway F48 West. Officers found Halfpop had spoken with a protected party on a cell phone and through texts. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Douglas L. VanDyke, 47, of Mingo, is charged with fireworks, sell, offer for sell or use after authorities were called at 9:01 p.m. July 3 to 14554 N. 51st Ave. W. in Mingo. VanDyke admitted to using fireworks at his house. He was cited and released to appear.

• Lisa M. Ahrens, 51, of Kellogg, is charged with operating while under the influence, violation of no contact order and interference with official acts after authorities were called at 8:42 p.m. Thursday to the 500 block of Joy Street in Kellogg. Officers were called about a car in the ditch. They found Ahrens who was acting erratic, uncooperative, unpredictable and also smelled of alcohol. She also tried to make contact with a person who had a no contact order against her following the accident. She refused to comply with multiple orders and attempted to walk away from officers, resisting arrest. She was placed under arrest and while being transported to the jail, began hitting her head on the car door. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
