Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa has announced the promotion of Mary Beth Lawson as the new coordinator of its Newton Career Connection Center.
Lawson, who had worked as an employment specialist at the center since its inception in August 2014, took over her responsibilities as coordinator on July 4.
The Newton Career Connection Center serves the communities of Jasper County. It offers free services for job-seekers, and its location is the result of a partnership between Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa and Des Moines Area Community College.
“Mary Beth has shown great leadership, strengthening community engagement and facilitation with community partners,” said Justin Bogers, Career Connection Center Manager. “We are very excited to have her step up in this role.”
The Center, at 600 N. Second Ave. W., Room 241, on the Newton DMACC campus, has new operating hours. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and by appointment on Saturday. For more information, call 641-791-0424.
