Upcoming Prairie Night Hikes

Mark your calendars for these opportunities to explore the prairie at night for an entertaining learning experience.

Join a ranger for a guided nature hike on at 8 p.m. Saturday and learn all about the secrets of the prairie at night.

The topic for this hike will be “Secrets of the Prairie Night.” Attendees will be looking, listening and learning firsthand about the nocturnal wildlife on the prairie. All ages are welcome to join the hike. To register call 515/994-3400 or email Nancy_corona@fws.gov.

Another ranger-guided hike will be from 9:30 to 11 p.m. July 20. The topic for this hike will be “Moths at Midnight.” Discover the nocturnal life of moths and have another unique chance to explore the prairie at night.
