• Derek L. Gladson, 31, of Palo, was arrested on a Mahaska County warrant after authorities pulled him over at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of First Avenue East. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Kyle G. Hawk, 20, of Newton, is charged with domestic abuse assault after authorities were called at 5:39 a.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of West Seventh Street South. Officers spoke with the victim who said she argued with Hawk about changing the code on his cell phone. The argument turned into an altercation when the victim was scratched on her leg and knuckle. The victim said Hawk also pushed her and tried to bite her. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Heather D. Richtsmeier, 29, of Newton, is charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness after authorities were called at 2:47 p.m. June 23 to the 400 block of East 21st Street South. Officers found the victim to have scratches on her forearm and chest along with blood in the corner of her mouth. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Joe M. Pierce, 27, of Newton, was arrested on a Jasper County warrant Bloomfield warrant after he turned himself in at 9:44 p.m. Monday at the Newton Police Department. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
