Accura HealthCare purchases Careage of Newton, Heritage Manor

Accura HealthCare President and CEO Ted LeNeave have announced the purchase of American Healthcare Associates which operates 11 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, two assisted living facilities and one residential care facility.

“Providing quality-focused individualized care for the residents and patients of Iowa is our highest priority. Our facilities are united in establishing relationships with our care partners. We believe that we are all partners in care and that makes us family for life. We will improve quality care and quality of life,” LeNeave said.

LeNeave and Tom LeNeave moved to Iowa with their families in 2015. As brothers, they wanted to start a business together that focused on making a difference. Their philosophy embraces an upside down organization approach that places residents, patients, and direct care employees at the very top of the organizational chart.

Accura HealthCare’s upside down organizational philosophy creates an upside down triangle that is reflected in the company’s logo. Also visible within the triangle of the logo is one person caring for another; this represents the meaning of the company name. “Accura” is Latin, meaning to take care of or to give attention to.

Accura HealthCare facilities provide intensive medical and rehabilitative services that include orthopedic, pulmonary, cardiac, dementia, respite, diabetes and hospice services for short and long term care needs. In addition, the Assisted Living facilities help residents remain independent in private settings while providing housekeeping and dining services, activities promoting companionship, and 24-hour emergency response.

The public is invited to come out to the facility and learn more about Accura’s services, philosophy and culture. The facilities are now known as Accura HealthCare of Newton West, 2130 W. 18th St. S., and Accura HealthCare of Newton East, 1743 S. Eighth Ave. E.
