MONROE — West Marshall junior Kallie Malloy held the Prairie City-Monroe softball team to only three hits on Thursday night during a non-conference game.
The Mustangs fell behind 5-0 and lost 5-1 at home to the Trojans. It was PCM’s sixth straight loss, while West Marshall is now 19-10 on the season.
The Mustangs ended the losing streak with a 4-0 win over Grinnell at the Pella Christian tournament Saturday. Belle Plaine defeated PCM, 4-2 in eight innings, later in the day.
Against West Marshall, freshman Camryn Wignall, junior Jaiden Rogers and sophomore Madison Foster all had one hit apiece. Foster had an RBI, while junior Katie Vande Wall walked and scored in the fifth.
Malloy (9-4) struck out six in the win for West Marshall.
Junior Kayla Jennings started in the circle and took the loss for the Mustangs. Jennings allowed three runs — two earned — on three hits.
Junior Chelbie Gillespie tossed the final four innings, allowing one earned run on four hits with three walks.
The Mustangs return to action at 7 p.m. Monday when they host Saydel for a Heart of Iowa Conference game.
