• Pet Vaccination Clinic will be from at 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Newton Fire Department, 410 S. Second Ave. W. in Newton. Cost will be $35 for cats and $45 for dogs. Appointment is required. • Butterfly Count will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge.

• Sensory Friendly Movie will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Capitol II Theatre in Newton. Individuals with special needs and their families are invited to a special showing of “Finding Dory.” Sing, clap, dance and move around. Volume turned down and lights turned up. Cost is $5 per person.

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Peer Support for those living with mental illness will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Optimae Life Services, 1730 First Ave. E. in Newton.

• Jasper County Fair Round Up and Rodeo will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jasper County Fairgrounds. Event will be feature the Barnyard Babies Contest, the crowning of the Jasper County Fair Queen with the inaugural rodeo to begin at 7 p.m.

• Pickin’ at the Pavilion will begin at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Prairie City Church of the Brethren pavilion. Inaugural music festival will begin with a 9:30 a.m. worship “in word and in music” in the church’s newly opened pavilion. A free-will donation lunch will follow worship then the music begins at 11:30 a.m.

• Congressman Dave Loebsack’s District Representative Bri Dennison will host open office hours at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Uncle Nancy’s Coffeehouse & Eatery, 114 N. Second Ave. W. in Newton.

• Chef for the Day will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Prairie City Shelterhouse. Chefs will be able to learn about baking, cooking and cutting and will be doing hands on experiments and even learning about taste buds. Chefs will able be able to try some foods they normally don’t like or want to try. This course is a great tool for inspiring students wanting to learn about cooking and science together. • Sen. Ernst Traveling Office Hours will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room of the Jasper County Courthouse, 101 First S. N. in Newton. Representatives from Senator Ernst’s office will be available to assist Iowans with problems or questions. Sen. Ernst will not be at the traveling office hours.

• Discover Hope, a faith based addiction support group, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 219 N. Second Ave. W., in Newton.

• Jasper County Library Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jasper County Courthouse in Newton. The purpose of this meeting is acting on the request of the Colfax Public Library to join the Jasper Library Association and receive county funding.
