• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Peer Support for those living with mental illness will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Optimae Life Services, 1730 First Ave. E. in Newton.

• Newton Barn Dance will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Park, corner of North First Street and North 19th Avenue East in Newton. Bring potluck and/or finger foods to share. Meal first followed by dance from 7 to 10 p.m. An old-fashioned barn dance is an evening of food, fun and friends with live music by Wild Mustard. Alcohol free. Everyone welcome. Families invited.

• NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Speediatrics 200 will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Iowa Speedway, 3333 Rusty Wallace Drive in Newton. Buckcherry will perform following the race.

• NASCAR XFINITY Series American Ethanol E15 250 will begin at noon Sunday at Iowa Speedway, 3333 Rusty Wallace Drive in Newton.

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at noon Monday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• NAMI of Jasper County will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Skiff Medical Center, 204 N. Fourth Ave. E. in Newton. Terry Sallis of Integrated Treatment Services will talk about services they offer and the relationship of alcohol and drug abuse and mental illness. There will also be talk about a possible local Walk fundraiser and the upcoming Mental Illness Awareness tour. The meeting is in the south board room at Skiff Medical Center.
