Stover fans 17 in CMB’s win over rival Nevada

COLLINS — Brady Stover struck out 17 batters in his season debut Wednesday, and the Raiders improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-1 victory over Nevada in Heart of Iowa Conference play.

Stover walked three and allowed three hits in earning his first win of the season. He went 1-for-4 and scored a run at the plate.

Brad Ritter had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Raiders at the plate. His two-run hit gave CMB the lead for good in the third. The Raiders plated four runs in the fourth to pull away.

Brady Kemp walked twice, had two RBIs and scored a run, while Aric Broderick went 2-for-3 with a run scored. CMB had six hits in the game.

The Raiders (2-0 overall, 2-0 in HOIC) play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Greene County.
