NPD investigates attempted armed robbery

Newton Police are investigating a Tuesday night attempted armed robbery at a Newton hotel.

Police were called to the Quality Inn, 1700 W. 19th St. S., at approximately 11:38 p.m. about a robbery taking place in which a man had what resembled a gun.

Sgt. Chris Wing declined to comment on whether any items were taking during the robbery. Officers are currently following up on leads they have received from the public through a Facebook post on the Newton Police Department's page.
