Colfax-Mingo boys fall short at districts

OSKALOOSA — Colfax-Mingo senior Mason Mosher shot an 86 but only one other Tigerhawk was under 100 during a Class 1A district tournament at Oskaloosa Golf Course on May 20.

The Tigerhawks’ season ended following a sixth-place finish. Colfax-Mingo shot a 371 and trailed district champion AGWSR by 30 shots. Winfield-Mount Union was the other state qualifier with a 343.

Iowa Valley (354), Belle Plaine (366) and Hudson (369) all finished ahead of Colfax-Mingo.

The Tigerhawks were better than Van Buren (372), North Mahaska (372), Sigourney (378) and New London (380).

Mosher’s individual season ended despite leading Colfax-Mingo with an 86. Freshman Ahren Teed shot a 99, while senior Zevin Lander carded a 100, senior Jacob Buehrer finished with a 113 and senior Jake Jeter turned in a 115.

Jordan Albert of Sigourney won medalist honors with a 75. Kaleb Hagge of Winfield-Mount Union was the runner-up medalist with a 77. Mosher’s 86 was good for 11th overall.
