Kelley will work for you

In the 2011 and 2012 Legislative sessions of the Iowa Legislature, I had the unique privilege to serve as the very first clerk to your Representative, Dan Kelley.

The learning curve for a new legislator is a steep one, but since those first days, Dan has mastered the skills to be an effective and strong voice for his hometown and Jasper County. In those two years, I sat next to Dan Kelley every single day on the floor of the Iowa House and watched as he put into practice the passion he has for our kids, schools, teachers and our environment. Everyday he was seeking new opportunities to better people’s lives in Jasper county and all around Iowa, as well as keep strong connections to home. Dan is one of the foremost leaders in the state in expanding renewable energies because he knows how important renewables have become to the economy of Jasper County.

Not only is he respected by his Democratic colleagues, but he reaches out every day to Republicans who sit directly around him, and every morning he greets them with a smile and handshake. Republicans and Democrats routinely ask him to co-sponsor legislation when they are looking for bi-partisan support. Dan is a go-to consensus builder and one of the best listeners I know.

I am very proud to call him a good friend of mine, and a person of consequence “Under the Golden Dome.” Keep Dan in office, working for you.
