• Relay for Life Charity Event will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Optimae Lifeservices, 1730 First Ave. E. in Newton. Silent auction includes movie tickets, home decor, prize baskets and more. Snacks will be provided. All proceeds go to Relay for Life.

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Richardson Run Memorial 5K will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Berg Middle School in Newton. Funds raised from this event will support the expansion of the Newton Law Enforcement museum and memorial located at the Newton Police Department. Prizes awarded for first male and female finisher and age group winners.

• Colfax Outdoor Market will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mineral Springs Park.

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Open House will be from 10 a.m. to noon at 2300 Law Center Drive. Check out the sheriff’s office historical display and enjoy light refreshments in the lobby with local officers.

• Peer Support for those living with mental illness will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Optimae Life Services, 1730 First Ave. E. in Newton.
