Jasper Conservation Connection and the Jasper County Conservation Board will be partnering with the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League to host the 9th annual Hook, Line & Sinker family fishing derby starting at 9 a.m. June 4 at the Izaak Walton League. The fishing derby is free for all ages.
The event will include educational presentations on fish identification, fishing laws, cleaning and cooking fish, minnow races and bow fishing. After a provided lunch, participants will have the afternoon to fish. Door prizes will be given out. The first 100 kids to register will receive a free T-shirt.
To register, print off a form at www.jaspercountyconservation.com. Forms must be returned by May 27 to the conservation office to ensure participants are served a meal the day of the derby.
