County needs strong leadership at Capitol

I have served on the Jasper County Board of Supervisors for the past eight years. In that time. I have had the pleasure of having a great working relationship with several of our state legislators. Paul Bell and Dennis Black always maintained contact and updated county officials on events and bills that were making their way through the legislature. Our current State Sen. Chaz Allen, has followed that same precedent. Unfortunately, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors hasn’t had the same relationship with our current Rep. Dan Kelley. The best way to move our county forward is through open communication and dialogue. That is why I feel we need new leadership at the statehouse level.

Wes Breckenridge has visited with the board and other elected officials concerning their daily operations and challenges they face. Wes’ work with mental health and human trafficking will give him firsthand knowledge and will prove beneficial to each bill addressed at the Capitol. Wes has visited the district and studied issues specific to each county department. He has taken a hands-on approach to dealing with the issues we face daily, monthly and on a yearly basis. We haven’t seen that in the past six years with Dan Kelley.

At the end of the day, constituents want a representative who interacts with their district and takes the opinions of all citizens into consideration when making important decisions that affect all of us. I promise you this, if you call, Wes will answer, if you email, Wes will respond, and, if you don’t agree with Wes, he will at least hear you out. Citizens deserve that much. Jasper County needs strong leadership at the Capitol. In my opinion that person is Wes Breckenridge.

Please join me in supporting Wes for state representative in the Democratic primary.
