Community Calendar

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Newton Senior High School Spring Band Concert will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at Newton High School, 800 E. Fourth St. S. The evening will also include the annual presentation of various band awards and honors.

• Congressman Dave Loebsack’s District Representative Bri Dennison will host open office hours at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Uncle Nancy’s Coffeehouse & Eatery, 114 N. Second Ave. W. in Newton.

• Monthly Potluck will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jasper County Senior Center, 702 E. Third St. S. in Newton. Jasper County Senior Citizens and Golden Agers Club host its monthly event. Bring a covered dish or drop a donation in the basket. Entertainment will follow the potluck. After the entertainment will be a meeting and Bingo. Bring your own place setting.

• The Newton Rotary Club will meet at noon Tuesday at the DMACC Newton Campus upstairs banquet room. The program will be presented by Rotary Exchange Student Luiz Carols Mais. Anyone interested in attending and learning more about the Newton Rotary Club is welcome. • Dinner on Tuesdays, a free meal, will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Life Church, 421 S. Second Ave. W. in Newton. Everyone welcome. Dinner will be in the basement of the church.

• Discover Hope, a faith based addiction support group, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 219 N. Second Ave. W. in Newton.

• Informational meeting about foster care and adoption will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pence Reese Tribute Center, 310 N. Second Ave. E. in Newton. There is a significant need for foster parents in Jasper County and we need families to help children in their own community. • Newton Children Choir performance will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Newton Hy-Vee Market Grille in Newton. The choir will perform live during the weekly Tuesday kid’s buffet. Coloring activities and games will be available as well.

• Newton Noon Kiwanis will meet at noon Wednesday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 East 4th St. North in Newton.
