Newton Police Department
• Brian S. Williams, 29, of Newton, is charged with forgery after authorities were called at 1 p.m. April 25 to 121 W. Third St. N. Officers spoke with the victim who said her checkbook was missing and a large amount of money was missing from her bank account. She found out two checks were written out to Williams and another suspect for $500 each. Williams cashed the checks. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
