Kelley not swayed by politics

Dan Kelley represents my values in the legislature. These are the same values for which Democrats have stood since the days of FDR: social and financial equality, fairness and concern for the most vulnerable. Dan supports income equality between men and women. He wants business to follow policies that are good not only for their profits but also for the environment. Dan wants to be sure that our children’s schools have enough money to do their job. Dan has never been deterred by the elites who have attempted to bully and intimidate him, even when such attacks have come from individuals within our local party.

As a Jasper County Democrat, I applaud Rep. Kelley for standing firm and doing his job while ignoring dishonest, politically motivated attacks. Dan is honest, does his homework, and can always explain how he votes. He is always accessible to answer questions and provide assistance to his constituents. I have personally witnessed Dan at work at the Capitol. He is well respected by his colleagues in both parties and is regarded as a state leader on renewable energy jobs and clean-water policy.

I don't need a new state representative. Dan Kelley gets my vote. I am voting absentee to make sure nothing interferes with my desire to return Dan to the legislature this fall. I hope that other Democrats in House District 29, from Baxter to Valeria, will join me. Request an absentee ballot by calling the county auditor's office at 641-792-7016. Or contact Dan at 641-521-9260 or ElectKelley@outlook.com. If you are not yet registered to vote, you may do so at the auditor's office, or go to vote411.org.
