JOHNSTON — The Iowa Army National Guard says it’s mobilizing a Johnston-based supply outfit for an Afghanistan support mission.
The National Guard says around 60 soldiers in the 185th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion will be on active duty for about a year. They’ll spend some time training at Fort Hood, Texas, before flying overseas.
A public send-off ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. on May 8 at the Iowa National Guard’s Des Moines air base.
